Maintain a clean environment around the wound

It is essential to wash your hand before touching the wounded area because there is chance of bacteria in your hand entering the wound. For higher levels of protection, it is always best to wear disposable protective gloves.
Cover the wound after medication
The worst enemy of wounds are bacteria which are almost everywhere in the surrounding… one has to make sure that their wound is thoroughly protected from these bacteria. Even after you have cleaned the wound and applies antiseptics, there is still a chance of bacteria entering the wound if it is left uncovered so it is always important to keep your wounds covered until they have fully healed.
Treat the wound everyday
If you have treated your wound once, you must pay attention to the dressing of the wound. If the dressing of the wound becomes wet or dirty, it is the time to change the dressing because bacteria can be even found in a dirty dressing.
Treatment for deep wounds
If it’s a minor wound, antiseptics and other sorts of treatments are enough to keep you safe but if it’s a deep wound, you will have to use the help from stitches because adhesive tapes are only recommended to cover up minor wounds. If the wound is deep, home medication will not do. If the wound looks deep, you should visit the nearest hospital as soon as possible to avoid any infections. Make sure that you keep the wound covered on your way to the hospital.
Look out for infections
Any wound is in constant threat of becoming infected. It is important to that you look out for any signs of infection. If you notice that the wound takes a lot of time to get healed or if you there is any abnormal redness or scratching, you should visit a doctor immediately.
