Not many of us have the time or money to book ourselves into a spa for a much-needed pampering session, so how can we create a similar atmosphere in our own time?
There are several easy ways to create a relaxing atmosphere both at home or if you are away from home. First of all, we must declutter the windowsill and surfaces of all the items we don’t use on a daily basis. These should be stored away, out of sight in a medicine cabinet or under-sink cupboard. Essential items only should be on show, and storing cotton wool in glass jars and placing hand towels folded neatly in wicker baskets will create a spa-like atmosphere.
Introduce green leafy houseplants or neutral-coloured flowers to your bathroom to create a comfortable and tranquil setting.
Upgrade your bath mats and towels with fluffy rugs and luxurious towels, and indulge yourself with a towel warmer to provide warm towels to wrap yourself up in after your luxurious soak or shower. You could also upgrade your shower head with a massage shower head with multiple settings or a waterfall head to suit everyone’s needs.
Scented candles and essential oils will help create the home spa experience, giving a relaxing and stress-free atmosphere. Scents like lavender, jasmine or vanilla will create a calming effect together with scented soaps and lotions.
Play light background music to de-stress your mind and help you relax. There are relaxing playlists available on YouTube.
Indulge yourself with both a face and hair mask while you soak in a hot scented bath with a glass of bubbly and a good book. You could lie there for hours.
You don’t have to be in your own home to make your bathroom spa-like. Whether you are in a hotel suite or Birmingham serviced apartments such as no. 8 Waterloo Street apartments, it is not going to break the bank if you want to create a relaxing and calming atmosphere.
We all need time to de-stress and relax, and we all do it in different ways. But why not give yourself a break and indulge yourself? What could be better than a long hot soak in a scented bath? It sounds like simple bliss.
